My Work

While I currently write for UL Prospector and edit the Society of Plastics Engineers' Journal of Blow Molding, my recent focus has been on reporting and writing my first book. This is a biography of Thomas G. Murdough, Jr., an extraordinary entrepreneur who founded three successful companies –– Little Tikes, Step2 Co., and Simplay3. More to come on this project shortly. 

Over my decade-plus as a freelancer, I have written for several outlets, including the online magazines K-Mag (for the huge K plastics show in Germany) and Tightly Packed (for the big Interpack packaging show), SPE’s PlasticsEngineering.org, PlasticsToday.com, and Design News. I also have served as a copywriter for European Marketing Group, a leading Dutch marketing communications firm, and done marcom work for several individual companies.

I've been active in the events business, having created and organized dozens of high-level conferences focusing on plastics, business, design, sustainability, and key end-market sectors such as automotive, packaging, and construction. (Check out the "Plastics in Design" conferences I conceived, organized, and moderated for SPE in 2016 and 2017.)
